IN THIS WORKSHOP YOU WILL LEARN HOW TO:
Stitch some sweet pansies using long and short stitch thread painting techniques.
This class is great for those who are new to embroidery, or those who want to fine tune their skills to create more detailed and delicate embroidery pieces. You can also use this technique to embellish clothes and household items.
Students will receive a beautiful kit containing a pansy embroidery pattern, thread, needles, fabric and a hoop. There will be plenty of time to perfect your long and short stitch, creating beautiful detailed flowers
This promises to be a creative and inspiring workshop in a welcoming environment—perfect for embroidery enthusiasts or anyone looking to try something new!

“Metamorphosis” - Hand Stitched Butterflies

IN THIS WORKSHOP YOU WILL LEARN HOW TO:
Metamorphosis’ is part of a suite of events designed around the 'On ageing' exhibition held at Chrissie Cotter Gallery from April 23rd - May 11, 2025.
This hands-on workshop designed by Amy Jones aims to encourage the embracing and acceptance of change. Amy will provide a pattern based around the ephemeral butterfly, that you can then embellish with thread and haberdashery ephemera. Participants will be able to choose from a variety of felt, fabrics, threads, beads and sparkles, to create their own unique design, symbolic of joyful transformation.
The finished piece will be able to hung on the wall, or worn as a special brooch. Expect like minds, good conversation, and to have sewn some wings by the end of the session.
